14 Days of Fun

What fun we had for 14 days in the month of July. Justin qualified for a big, huge, amazing weekend bike contests here in Bend. He (Being the good dad that he is) brought the boys with him. It was so much fun having them during the day while their dad went racing! Justin is such a good dad. He is/has always been a "hands on" dad. He got the boys ready for church just before leaving for his race. (In the picture of all the bikers... you can try and find Justin... half the time I didn't know which one was him.. they were all so fast. Each lap they would go by faster and faster.. I just pointed and clicked... he wasn't one of these guys) I received a compliment while at the race. I found a piece of shade and parked the boys there. One photographer was standing close by our "space" and he said to the boys, "You're a good mom getting your boys out of the sun!" I just politely said, "Thank you!"

On Saturday in between races he came home and helped Bob and Robert build a fire pit.

One of the fun things we did, besides cheering Justin on at the big downtown race... was the Oregon High Desert Classic Equestrian jumping contest. The boys really enjoyed watching and commenting on which horses made the jumps or which ones made the fences fall down. I commented to Trey that I was hoping that this particular rider wasn't going to knock a fence off. Trey didn't say anything for a second and then he said, "Grandma, I was just praying that the horse wouldn't hit the fence!" Is that not the cutest thing ever?

The boys love helping us with the water (Tian even wanted to start the engine of the 6-wheeler)irrigation, and helping Bob mow the lawn, fix sprinklers and with water the plants in the greenhouse.

While the boys were here, one of Rebecca's best friends' dad passed away. Long story, Justin left the boys here, went home and Rebecca came back for the funeral. The pictures she took at Tim Hill's graveside were beautiful.

Rebecca and the boys stayed here while I went to SLC for my mom's 80th birthday party (I'll blog about that), and she was able to get ready for the Bledsoe Family Reunion (That too will be blogged) which was held here in Bend, Oregon! Wow, Bob & I LOVED having all of them here...
Justin needs to come race every year!

This one really is him.. Of course Rebecca took it. Thankfully with hundreds of riders, she knows which one is Justin!

Thomas in Hood River!

Two people live in Hood River, my friend Teresa Christensen (Not for years, but we think of her when we hear Hood River) and Thomas the Tank Engine (Not really, but he comes into "Port" once a year). This is our 3rd year to visit the train station and take a ride. The train station is packed with Thomas lovers! This year was just as fun! WE got on the first car, right next to Thomas (No one rides in Thomas). Derek smiled the whole time! Besides the ride, there are a ton of activities to do, along with Photo opportunities.

We first take a bus ride to the train station.

While we what for our "departure" we stroll around the train station and check out all the Thomas "stuff".

Then we hear the whistle blowing and we know who's coming down the track!

Time to board the train! We got great seats! Bob even took Derek out on the balcony during the ride and let him touch Thomas. After we were on our way, Mr. Conductor made his way through the train. What a sweet man, letting people get their pictures taken with him.

Can't wait for next year!!!

I'm trying to get on "TRACK" with my Blog "Train"

I've been posting pictures on Facebook and then I realized that I haven't been updating my Blog. So many of my family members (I'm sure some friends too) aren't on Facebook, and are just WAITING for me to add a new post or two on my blog.
Now that I've been released as Relief Society President (HIP HIP HOORAY), one of the first things I was going to do it try and update this blog. So here it goes (Well, maybe a post a day) (Rebecca is doing the same... I may have to steal some of her pictures)
